Raised in a family in the BC real estate and building sectors, I spent a decade of my early working life as a commercial and residential roofer, learning the value of hard work and the design of primary waterproofing systems. After a few years of college studies I left to travel Asia where I landed in Taiwan and spent three years teaching English to university and primary aged students, a life changing experience that ignited a passion and talent for educating. Upon returning to Canada, I moved to Vancouver where I spent several years working for a downtown contracting firm specializing in renovations, assisting various trades in the remodeling of condos and vintage homes.

Looking for a new opportunity out of the dust and into my other interest of graphic design, I earned a diploma in publishing and began a sixteen year career as a commercial print specialist at an nationally recognized print company based in Burnaby. There I developed troubleshooting skills on industry leading technology while proofing files, including layouts from major developments across the lower mainland. This evening position allowed me to focus on raising a young family during the day while my wife advanced her career.

Seeking a new challenge adjacent to my interests in construction, I enrolled at BCIT’s House Inspection program which deep dives into all aspects of house design, including the BC Building Code as well as the fundamentals of modern building science. After completing the program in the top of my class, I’ve had the good fortune to come aboard with The Inspector where I have further honed my skills under the mentorship of master inspector Shawn Anderson and his fellow lead inspector, Jeff Lemay. With a strong leadership team focused on continued education and dedicated to providing outstanding service, I look forward to building trust with our clients and partners through meticulous inspections of their prospective homes for years to come.
